Mr. Lewis Stainton
I was born in West Cumbria and have lived there my whole life, I’ve been involved in Sea Fishing from an early age. I have memories of shrimping in Allonby Bay in the late 60’s, shore netting for Plaice and the occasional Bass, setting lines and beach fishing for whatever we could catch.
I started competition beach fishing in my late 20’s before progressing to inshore boat fishing, briefly becoming a qualified commercial skipper on an under 8m inshore boat. Latterly I have fished pots and gill nets recreationally. whilst still enjoying angling.
My hobbies include SCUBA diving and Sailing.
The majority of my career has been Sellafield Ltd, I started as an Instrument technician before expanding into HV switching and Operations Management, for the past 15 years I’ve carried out a Shift Coordinator role specialising in Emergency Management, I am currently seconded as the Whitehaven Harbour Operations Manager.
