Byelaw 3 – Permit to Fish for Cockles and Mussels
If you wish to join the waiting list for Byelaw 3 please send a written request to the office by e-mail to [email protected] or by post to the address at the bottom of the page. Please note only ten new permits are issued each year on a first come first served basis. Currently there is over 225 people on the waiting list.

Byelaw 26 – Permit to Fish for Lobster, Crab and Whelk
To apply for a permit under Cumbria Sea Fisheries Legacy Byelaw 26 please download and complete the application form below. Please note that the former Cumbria Sea Fisheries Committee district spans from Haverigg Point to the border in the Solway Firth. Areas such as Walney Channel fall into the former North Western Sea Fisheries Committee District and require a Byelaw 30 Permit (available below).

To apply for a permit under North Western Sea Fisheries Committee Legacy Byelaw 30 please use the form below. Please note North Wales is managed by the Welsh Government and is not under the jurisdiction of NWIFCA. If you wish to fish in North Wales please follow this link to the Welsh Government’s website.
