Join the Network for English Inshore Fisheries

NWIFCA are supporting the English Small Scale Inshore Fisheries Network

Last year two national events brought 120 participants to discuss how best to achieve and maintain sustainable inshore fishing. One key point that arose from both events was the need for the voices of inshore fishermen to be heard and build capacity to collectively act. 

In February 2025 representatives from 15 fishermen’s organisations around the coast met to discuss how this need could be realised and the creation of a network was suggested.

The aim now is to bring together small-scale fishermen, fishing communities and associated businesses from around England to create a network that facilitates knowledge exchange with the aim of creating a harmonious voice for English small-scale inshore fisheries.
