NWIFCA Stage 3 MPA Consultation Response
NWIFCA’s Executive arm, via its CEO, has today responded to the MMO’s consultation on its proposed Stage 3 MPA management measures, which include the prohibition on all forms of bottom-towed gear fishing in four MPAs in the Eastern Irish Sea, three of which have elements within NWIFCA’s district.
Our response is separated into three sections, the first is our comments on the measures for the Irish Sea more generally, whilst the other two are in relation to our specific objections to the proposals for the Shell Flat and Lune Deep Special Area of Conservation and the Fylde Marine Conservation Zone.
