| The Environment Agency (EA) is responsible for regulating major industry and waste. They are also responsible for the treatment of contaminated land, water quality and resources, fisheries, inland river, estuary and harbour navigations, and conservation and ecology. |
| The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) ensure that marine activities are carried out in a sustainable way, through licensing, regulating and planning. |
| Natural England (NE) are the governments adviser for the natural environment in England. |
